COMEDY OPEN-MIC POP-UPS ON THE CENTRAL COAST

Our Summer Pop-Up Comedy Open Mic Series is here to give local comedians and comedy fans a place to perform and gather on Sunday and Saturday evenings throughout July and August.

The Central Coast has a growing stand-up comedy community, and many comics meet at weekly open-mics at places like Giavanni’s Pizza, Libertine, and SLO Cider.

Many comedians in the scene have expressed interest in another open-mic to practice their art and self-expression. Open-mics have come and gone for different reasons such as location, businesses shutting down, or other conflicts.

This series was designed to support local comedians while bringing new customers into local businesses. It gives comedians the chance to reach and practice in front of new audiences, while giving community members chances to have comedy come to their city— cities which may have otherwise not have access to events like this.

Jellybean Productions is an independent business ran by Nevada Gibson meant to bring accessible, fun, arts, and social events to communities on the Central Coast from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo.

Sample Itinerary

  • Workshop participants ease into the day with creative prompts and a welcome circle to get grounded and set the tone.

  • Our first session focuses on the foundations of floral design. From tool basics to flower care and simple composition tips, you’ll start building confidence and finding your creative rhythm.

  • Participants will be responsible for brining their own lunch, but we'll provide water and some additional snacks throughout the day.

  • With the basics fresh, we’ll dive into hands-on arranging. We’ll explore shape, scale, and movement while encouraging personal style through floral design.

  • To close the day, you’ll create a final piece to share with the group. We’ll reflect on your process and celebrate the creativity that unfolded.
